100 Thousand Poets For Change returns to Sheboygan for its seventh annual poetry and music event celebrating peace, justice and sustainability worldwide. Sheboygan is just one of 500 cities in nearly 100 countries that will share visions of positive change that day. The event will be held on the Weill/Byk Terrace on the lake side of the library building. Festivities begin with an open mic at 1:00 p.m. (sign up at 12:45). During the open mic, members of the public can share an original poem or song, or a piece by someone else. All are welcome to participate with a maximum of three minutes at the mic, so that everyone gets a turn. The poet laureate of Milwaukee, Roberto Harrison, will be the featured reader at 2:00 p.m. and local singer/songwriter, Jon Doll, will share songs of change at 2:30. For those who don't wish to read a poem or sing, listening is encouraged! Please bring a lawn chair. In case of rain, all activities will move to the Rocca Meeting Room in the library.
