Come join us at the Mead Public Library in Sheboygan, WI, for a Sunday afternoon Jam Session focusing on Bluegrass and Blues Repertoire. All instruments are welcome. Please note---no amplification. Loud percussive instruments are discouraged. We want to hear everyone, after all!
Note: This is a paperless jam session, that leans towards the adv. beginner and intermediate ends of the spectrum. We prefer songs that are 2, 3, and 4 chords at best and easy for everyone to follow with singable refrains. Blues Songs are 12 and 8 bar variety. Lead a song, Jam along or just come to listen! No hotdogs or song-hogs please, we are a fair, welcoming and courteous bunch in Sheboygan, respectful of our fellow jammers. This is a quarterly jam; look for it again on March 15th (in the Imaginarium on the 2nd floor), May 17th and October 25th.
Award-winning Wiscosin folk singer Lil Rev is the group's fearless jam facilitator.
Lil' Rev was born and bred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with dual passions for music and education. After college he taught music to grade schoolers at the Milwaukee Jewish Day School and served as an adjunct music historian and lecturer at The University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. After many years of performing in the Midwest, Lil' Rev left his teaching jobs behind to pursue his musical dreams full-time. Since then, he has traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, visited every state in the Union (except Alaska and Hawaii), wrote almost a dozen instructional books, recorded over a dozen albums and taught thousands of students ukulele and harmonica.
