Purpose of Meeting
The League of Women Voters seeks to improve its racial, age, and economic diversity to foster its growth and to help serve diverse communities. Rev. Lex Cade-White, a hospital chaplain in Milwaukee, and Alexandra Nugent, a teacher and Town of Sheboygan supervisor, will facilitate a discussion about race, identity, and power for LWVSC volunteers on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. at Mead Public Library. The abbreviated program is drawn from Conversations on Race and Empowerment (CoRE), a series of community dialogues they conduct at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. At this session, participants will examine their own identities and beliefs through interactive discussions and gain a better understanding of privilege and the historical and current relations among diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
