Do you adore France to the point of passion, leading to a constant desire to either travel to a Francophone country, find Francophone conversation partners, watch French movies, or listen to French songs? Please join us for 4 rendez-vous (meetings) at Mead Public Library if you have always been curious about and attracted to anything French and want to learn more about this fascinating culture. We will explore French culture through its music, cinema, and beautiful sights. No French language knowledge necessary.

Meeting 2: February 23, 2016 - Bienvenue to the Francophone World of Song & Dance!

Who comes to mind when you think of French music? Discover the vast diversity of French dancers and talented vocal artists who have charmed fans beyond Edith Piaf. Feel free to sing along and see what the French find of value to sing about.

Meeting 3: March 22, 2016 - Allons au cinema! Let's go to the Movies!

Let's watch trailers of some interesting French films which illustrate the French experience. Why do French movies have such surprising "non-endings" compared to the typical American story, leaving us frustrated because they seem cut short and unfinished?

Meeting 4: April 26, 2016 - Castles, Cathedrales & beautiful places like Chamonix!

Paris is truly a charming city, but let's face it, there's so much more than Paris to visit in France, so come and travel while seated, to some of the most stunning landscapes and vistas ever. France has it all. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the trip!

Debbie is a French language teacher, was married to a Frenchman, who died about 10 years ago, and takes an annual three-week trip to France. She has been immersed in French culture all of her adult life.
