Lil' Rev is back with an all new lineup of classes geared toward the beginner. If you are joining remotely click HERE and wait for Lil' Rev to begin the Facebook Live stream at the scheduled start of each class. Please note the March 5th class will be held in-person only.
Those joining classes in-person need to register as well as provide their own ukulele. Look to see if a circulating ukulele is available for checkout from Mead Library HERE and HERE.
Classes are appropriate for all experience levels, including the absolute beginner.
Here's the Spring class lineup:
Tues. March 5th: Intro To Mountain Dulcimer For The Complete Beginner. Learn how to tune, hold, strum and pick a simple melody on the mountain dulcimer. This class in in-person only.
Tues. March 19th: Transposing For Ukulele Beginners. Learn to take one song and transpose it into 6 different keys.
Thurs. April 4th: How To Start Playing Your Guitar for the Absolute Beginner. Learn how to tune your guitar, hold a guitar pick, play your first 2 chords and much more for the complete beginner! THIS CLASS IS IN-PERSON ONLY
Tues. April 9th: Learn An Easy Bluegrass Song On The Uke (High On A Mountain) in G. Learn a fun song written by pioneering bluegrass gal, Olla Belle Reed. Just a couple of chords, a boom chuck strum and away we go. For advanced beginners and intermediate, Rev will teach the basic melody.
Tues. May 14th: Learn a Cool One-Chord Song & The Riff (Low Rider). Learn to strum a fun rock classic from the band War, that has just one chord in it. This is an easy beginners song. Advanced Beginners can learn the riff to the song written for tab.
Thurs. May 16th: Learn The Outside/Inside Pattern. Learn a fun, easy basic finger picking pattern and a few simple folk songs to try accompanying yourself.
