Event Details

The explosion in technology-based gaming, social networking, instant communication and entertainment media has become a potent and ubiquitous force in child development. Emerging research is measuring the impact of these media on the neurology, behavior and relationships of young people, as well as their parents and teachers. Join Pewaukee-based psychotherapist, trainer and award-winning Journal Sentinel columnist Philip Chard in exploring the perils and promises posed by current technology, as well as rapidly emerging advances in artificial intelligence, robotics and human-machine interfaces that loom on the near-term horizon. Chard will also examine strategies for educators, child development professionals and parents in their efforts to raise healthy children in an IT-centric world. 6:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28, Rocca Room.
