Join staff of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters and members of the Mead Public Library Foundation as they welcome speaker Jason Fletcher with a reception from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the library Loft.  All are welcome! Jason, the Director of the Center for Demography on Health and Aging at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will discuss some of the recent major advances in genomics and how statistical methods applied to “big data” in human genetics, often through private companies, offer new avenues for targeted healthcare intervention as well as patient discriminationHe will speak directly after the reception, at 7:00 p.m. in the Rocca Meeting Room.
