The Library's authority and responsibility for the welfare of unattended minors on library property extend no further than for adult community members. The Library does not act in loco parentis. However authorized staff members who deem it necessary may request assistance from
City police personnel or other appropriate agencies in instances where the immediate welfare of unattended children on library property is concerned.
Unattended minors may be asked to leave the Library due to breaches of the "Code of Conduct" adopted by the Library Board which applies to the behavior of all members of the public while on Library property.
