Community Felt Installation Session
Learn wet felting techniques as you create a piece that will be part of the community felt installation. This class will be taught by Maker-in-Residence, Kati Fritz-Jung.
Meet the Imaginarium's Maker-in-Residence:
Kati Fritz-Jung
Kati Fritz-Jung is a visionary fashion designer whose work is a testament to the belief that we are all interconnected, yet distinct individuals. Her design philosophy is rooted in the idea that our uniqueness is like words in a poem—individual, yet harmonious when woven together. Kati’s journey into fashion was shaped by a nomadic childhood, which taught her to embrace her individuality and express it through her attire and art.
With 18 patents to her name, Kati is a mentor and innovator, empowering others to find joy in creation. Using nuno felting techniques, incorporating wool, silk, and an array of embellishments is a sensory journey, and she is inviting the Sheboygan community to join her in the creation of the water-themed felt installation, "Community. Each one of us unique, swimming together. ", which will be featured on the 2nd-floor stairwell at Mead Public Library.
Kati Fritz-Jung has generously sponsored this residency and has been working on this installation with the following community partners in addition to Mead Library: Art & Good Company (A&GC), Boys and Girls Club, MAS Arts Outreach, and RCS Empowers.
