Event Details
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
• Students in grades 3 through 12.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
• Write a scary story of 800 words or less.
• The story must be your own creation, and if possible, typed.
• Email your story with your name, grade and school by 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10 to alison.loewen@meadpl.org
• Stories will be judged on originality, creativity and quality of writing.
YOU MUST USE ONE OF THESE PHRASES TO BEGIN OR END YOUR STORY:
• It was the one thing I most dreaded seeing, right in front of me...
• The knocking at the door was too loud, too erratic...
• The library was especially cold that evening...
• The look in the librarian’s eyes was one I will never forget...
• I knew I shouldn’t have checked that book out from the library...
The winners will receive prizes and have their stories published in The Sheboygan Press the week leading up to Halloween.
