Join us three Mondays in February for live-streamed ukulele classes brought to you by Lil' Rev and Mead Library. Classes meet from 6:30-7:30pm and can be found on the Mead Facebook page by clicking HERE. Check out the entire list of classes below! 

 

Feb. 8th- On The Sunny Side Of The Street Learn to play this classic Tin Pan Alley Song in A with simple embellishments, an intro, ending and picking pattern. Must know basic chords. 
Feb. 15th- Learn 2 Chord Solos "Halleluyah! I'm A Bum" & "Oh Mary Don't You Weep". Chord melody solos are stand-alone pieces of music, whereby strumming the chords imply the melody. We'll learn 2 cool folk melodies in the chordal style. Must know basic chords.
Feb. 22nd- 3rds and 6th's For Uke Come and explore the art of playing 3rds and 6ths for ukulele, hear the intervals, learn how they are created and a couple of simple exercises and songs. Open to basic melody players.

Lil' Rev was born and bred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with dual passions for music and education.   After college he taught music to grade schoolers at the Milwaukee Jewish Day School and served as an adjunct music historian and lecturer at The University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.  After many years of performing in the Midwest, Lil' Rev left his teaching jobs behind to pursue his musical dreams full-time.  Since then, he has traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, visited every state in the Union (except Alaska and Hawaii), wrote almost a dozen instructional books, recorded over a dozen albums and taught thousands of students ukulele and harmonica.
