Join Mead Library and our community partners as we chase away the winter blues and welcome the greens of spring! Featuring free green-themed activities for all ages, including Tai Chi, science experiments, crafts, sprouting, and gardening.

TAI CHI W/ JOHN DOLL AND JANE LANG
Ages 14+
Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art practiced for defense training, health benefits, and meditation.
9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
CURIOSITY EXPERIMENTS W/ MILLIPORESIGMA
Ages 8-14
Get curious with MilliporeSigma scientists and engineers during this hands-on, inquiry-based learning activity that applies scientific concepts to “real world” settings.
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
FLOWER POWER POTS
Ages 3-8
Decorate a terracotta flower pot with paint, markers, and other materials. Next add soil, seeds, and water, place it on a windowsill, and watch it grow!
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
EGG CARTON STARTER GARDENS
Ages 5+
Think green by getting your kitchen garden started with vegetable, herb, and flower seeds from the Mead Seed Library.
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
BEESWAX WRAPS
Ages 11+
Cut back on plastic and make your own reusable beeswax food wrap.
1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
MICROGREENS W/ DEBRA DENZER OF TERRA SOL GARDENS
Loaded with nutrients, learn about microgreens and how to grow your own at home during this hands-on workshop.
